This Privacy Notice for Ceevbuild ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we may access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you visit our website at ceevbuild.com, use our Resume Builder, or otherwise engage with us. Questions or concerns can be sent to our support team (support@ceevbuild.com).
1. What Information Do We Collect?
We collect personal information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, job title, work history, education history, and skills. We do not collect sensitive personal information. Payment data is handled and stored by Polar (polar.sh). We also automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Services, including log and usage data, device data (such as IP address, browser type, and operating system), and location data. Where we use Google APIs, our use adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
1.1 Analytics
We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics provider, to understand how visitors use our site and improve the product. PostHog is configured to operate without cookies and does not track you across browsing sessions.
Data collected includes:
- Pages viewed and general navigation/click activity (e.g. which buttons or links are used)
- Device, browser, and operating system type
- Session duration
- General approximate location (country/city level, derived at the time of your visit; we do not store your IP address)
Data we do not collect through this analytics tool:
- We do not use cookies for analytics tracking
- We do not track you across visits or sessions
- We do not record your screen or session activity
- Content you type into resume fields (name, email, work history, etc.) is not captured by our analytics tool
PostHog processes this data on our behalf and stores it on servers located in the EU. You can read PostHog's own privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
We process your information to deliver and manage the Services, fulfill orders and payments, keep the Services secure, understand usage trends so we can improve them, and to protect vital interests when necessary. We only process personal information when we have a valid legal reason to do so.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EU/UK/Canada)
Where applicable, we rely on legal bases such as your consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of vital interests. You can withdraw consent at any time. Canadian users may also be subject to certain exceptions permitted under applicable law, such as fraud prevention or investigation of a breach.
4. When and With Whom Do We Share Information?
We may share information with vendors and service providers who perform work on our behalf under contract, including AI service providers (Google Cloud AI, Groq), product analytics (PostHog), payment processing (Polar), and website hosting (Netlify). We may also share information as part of a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.
5. Do We Offer AI-Based Products?
Yes. Our AI Products are powered through third-party AI Service Providers. Google Cloud / Google Gemini parses your full resume, including your name, contact details, links, and work history, to convert it into structured fields. We use Google's paid Gemini API service, under which Google does not use your prompts or responses to improve its products. Groq is used only when you choose to "Polish" a specific summary or experience entry, and receives only the text of that section, processed under Groq's Data Processing Addendum and Services Agreement.
6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice, unless a longer period is required by law. When there is no ongoing legitimate business need to process it, we delete or anonymize it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible.
7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We use reasonable organizational and technical security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
We do not knowingly collect or market to children under 18 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). By using the Services, you represent that you meet this age requirement or are a parent/guardian consenting on a minor dependent's behalf. Contact us if you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location (including the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing or automated decision-making. To exercise these rights, contact us. UK residents may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
10. Do-Not-Track & Global Privacy Control
We do not currently respond to browser Do-Not-Track signals, as no uniform standard exists. However, we do recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request under applicable state privacy laws, including the CCPA.
11. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of applicable U.S. states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, and others) may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months. Requests can be made here, and you may designate an authorized agent or appeal a decision as permitted by applicable law.
12. Other Regions
Additional rights may apply if you reside in Australia, New Zealand, or the Republic of South Africa, including the right to request access to or correction of your personal information and to lodge a complaint with the relevant regulator (e.g. South Africa's Information Regulator at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za).
13. Local Storage and Transient AI Processing
Our Application uses your browser's local storage to hold resume text, contact details, and other input data directly on your device; we do not maintain a central cloud database of your resume content. To parse your resume, your full resume text, including personal identifiers such as your name, address, phone number, and links, is transmitted to Google Cloud / Google Gemini for real-time processing under a paid API agreement. Google does not use this data to train or improve its models. To rewrite a specific section you choose to "Polish," only that section's text is transmitted to Groq's AI Platform, which is likewise not permitted to use it to train or fine-tune its models. Neither provider stores this data on a long-term basis; Google may retain prompts and responses for a limited period solely to detect abuse and meet legal obligations, consistent with its Data Processing Addendum and Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.
14. Updates to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice periodically. Material changes will be indicated by a revised "Last updated" date, and where appropriate we will notify you directly.
